We are sad to announce that Susan Cooper, the woman behind Squeakies Jumpers, died in the early hours of Sunday 17th March 2019 peacefully at home with her husband Steve by her side.
Since being diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma in May 2018, she crammed in what she could. Although she stopped knitting, she continued her embroidery and crochet until her illness no longer allowed.
At the end, she summed it up by saying that her mind remained willing but her body seemed to be giving up on her. And so it proved to be.
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others” ~ Pericles
